FAQs

Yes, L’Oréal’s products are cruelty free and they don’t test any of their products or ingredients on animals. Not only that, but they’ve been at the forefront of developing alternative testing methods for over 30 years.

They’ve been reconstructing human skin models in laboratories in a process known as ‘in vitro safety tests’ to safely test their products during that time. Beyond that, L’Oréal also have a number of other methods for safely testing their products such as molecular modelling, imaging techniques, precise toxicology systems and much more.

L’Oréal themselves don’t test any of their products or ingredients on animals. However their products are sold in China and the health authorities there are still required to carry out animal testing for certain products.

However, L’Oréal are actively working alongside the Chinese authorities to evolve and improve the regulation towards a total elimination of animal testing.

L’Oréal do sell vegan products, however not all their products can be classed as vegan and do contain animal-derived ingredients. Their Botanicals and EverPure range are examples of the vegan products they offer. However unfortunately, we don’t currently stock that range of products.

L’Oréal offers plenty of products that are paraben free, however where parabens are present, they use short chain parabens which are deemed safe by the EU’s Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety.

Various products within the Revitalift, Age Perfect and Elvive range contain no parabens, however it’s important that you read the ingredients and ask any questions before buying if you want to be sure your product purchased from us contains no parabens.

L’Oréal uses palm oil in its products due to the multiple benefits it brings such as skin hydration, softening, and its foaming and texturising properties. However 100% of the palm oil sourced by L’Oréal since 2010 has complied with the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) standards. L’Oréal has also continuously done their part in supporting those affected by deforestation and ensuring they utilise a sustainable supply chain with complete transparency at all times.
